Seems like I have seen threads on this in the past but I could not find em. I am going to paint a 37 unstyled WC with rear spoke rims and steel disk front rims. This one had orange rims and centers all around. A lot of pictures seem to show black painted rims, especially on the front disk wheels. Did they just vary from time to time during production or get swapped over time? I will probably just paint Orange since I will have the paint but wondered if it was really correct. If this does not look right I am working from wife's iPad after my desktop had to go to shop. Hopefully they can save it. Sort of like loosing your wallet.

WC's of 33 were probably P O 1 changed in jan of 34 to green till april of 34. From april of 1934 they changed to black. Black was the color for most of the spoke wheels but there is no proof they all were black. We must remember AC out sourced their wheel supply from F&H and bought in large numbers.

I have seen one with the green wheels. 1. Correct me if I am wrong, but if on rubber, black paint and if flat spoke steel, P.O.1.

So most rubber tire rims left the factory black? That would seem to agree with the ads that ran in late 30s. Hard to tell about the rear wheels because many tractors in the ads had black wheel weights installed.
Update. After cleaning up the front wheel rims they definitely had started out black then had been painted orange at some point.
