I got two that are stuck on. looked at a bazillion you tubes.  I think this model is spose to slide right off the hub with a little persuasion. I been up to a 4 lb hammer and also tried the pushing with a bolt and nut through the caliper mount. I can't get these things to budge. Oh and used ample krioil. I hope somebody can bail me out on this one. thanks. |

| Keep beating from the backside out. When you put the new ones put some anti seize around the center of the rotor where it meets the hub. |

Most of it is rust on the inside of the rotor that expands and won't allow it to slide over the hub. Wail the chit out of it on the horizontal 'hat' part of the rotor to knock the rust off. It will help dislodge it from the hub too. If you have a light you can see behind it where the caliper mounts. If you think you have enough spray on it give it another shot. Select your words carefully. It takes the right succession of profanity to make the magic work.

Dang Steve, I did not find that you tube. It looks exactly like my 2WD Ford. I am going to yank that puppy apart tomorrow and go from there. Thanks, If you don't hear back shortly, no news is good news, but I will get back. AAAArrrgggg, I can't believe it is gonna be 27 degrees in the am.

My son was making a run to Little Rock to pick up a motorcycle using my F250SD. He made is about an hour out when he heard clicking/rattling noise from front drivers side hub bearing. Told him to limp it back to Greenville, TX and I would bring more tools and we can change bearings. I get to the O'Reilly's parking lot, he has the left front hub off but can't get the bearing inner race off the spindle., bearing was shot. O'riely's and autozone didn't have a puller. The other O'riely's in town has a puller, i start to head over there but see a Greenville Fire truck and command truck setting across the street having a casual meeting. I swing by and ask them if any mechanics shops might be open at 7am on a saturday and explain what is going on. They all jumped up wanted to take a look. Them fellows rolled up, popped out the jaws of life and an air chisel. They had the race off in a few seconds. The crew from Station #4 went well above community service to help us out. So now we have a Northern Tools air chisel, would love to pickup a hydraulic or electric jaws of life. The fireman pinched the race then started working that thing off, would not budge. Air chisel with about three hits and it was gone...

Some have a single or 2 screw on them to hold it in place while you put the caliper together. Small screws, but could hold you up. I had one come off in pieces last year. |

First time I changed brakes on my 2013 F150 I had to thoroughly beat the wheel off because it was seized to the middle of the hub. The pilot hole surface on both the wheel and disc tend to seize from electrolysis, takes quite a bit of persuasion sometimes. ------------- 1951 WD #78283, 1918 Case 28x50 Thresher #76738, Case Centennial B 2x16 Plow |

Thanks for the interest folks and especially to steve(ill) for posting the vid. My ole Ferd "get it" is back on its feet and outta of the barn.  That was also a reassuring post about the fire men (oops i meant persons) folks.
