I have a chance to buy a 6g, are there any particular things i need to take a look at. It has been sitting about 5 years. Are parts fairly easy to get?

first thing to check is the obvious, starting, moving and especially turning clutches. if it steers one way and not the other, steering clutch is seized. does it have the allis engine or buda? allis's are better. definately undercarriage. crawlerheaven.com has undercarriage specs. pins and bushings on loader arms for excessiv wear. bucket and teeth, is cutting edge thin? oil levels, especiall trans. if it is low, input shaft probably leaking. good machines overall, alot of parts are the same as hd5. i have alot of parts if you get it and need any. good luck

Along with everthing else previously mentioned, check your loader frames closely for cracks. Also the track frames and cross over bar. Have the track adjusters bolts frooze up or will they still turn. If this is an Allis engine, should sticks some batteries in and get it running  pretty easy. Good luck
