I recently bought a 7050 that we believe to be fairly low houred for a thousand dollars. The previous owner said it kept losing prime. I tore into it today and I don't have any fuel coming from the tank to the filter, I blew air into it backwards and can hear it bubbling in the tank. What am I missing guy's? Thanks

Its probably a dumb question, I suppose the primer pulls a vacuum on the fuel line and flows the fuel? On my 7010 if I undo the line at the filter it runs on its own.

I ran into that on a Case. After much frustration I replaced the plastic line and fittings and didn't have any more problems. Not sure if the fittings were leaking air or the plastic line became porous.

7030/7050's got their fuel from sucking it up thru a standpipe in the left tank. That was a bad design and then they went to getting the fuel supply from the crossover hose/tube down low between the two tanks. That was much less problematic, so if it hasn't been changed over to the bottom draw style, do that first. They also went to a 1/2" sized hose when they went to bottom draw instead of 1/4" plastic line.

Thanks Doc, that looks easy enough to do, I see the bung in the bottom. Then I'll just have to reduce the line down to fit my glass filter base.

Make sure the passageway in the base is clear. I have seen debris get that far and get wedged in the filter base.

A stand pipe is not a good idea no matter who built it.      Leon
