Has anyone added a coolant filter to a 7010? If so what kit did you use and where do you plumb it in? TIA

Use the correct antifreeze and there's no need for a coolant filter.

What antifreeze do you recommend for my 200. It already has a coolant filter. Thanks Tom. How are you getting along with the project tractor? I would like to see it when you get it done.

I have a coolant filter kit that was on a 301 from a combine I can find it and send pictures to an email if interested

Heavy Duty diesel coolant from any Caterpillar or Cummins dealer is what you need. Has a dark pink color to it. Using the proper coolant versus a filter, eliminates at least 6 places you could have a leak. There's are several reasons no one uses a filter anymore. One is, finding a place to mount it. DO NOT USE THIS COOLANT WITH A FILTER !! SHUT THE FILTER OFF OR REMOVE IT.

Mine came with a coolant filter. Combine engine. I can take a pic if you want. I can tell you that filter isn't cheap. You may want to spend the money on better antifreeze.

DrAllis, I’m assuming/think Rotella ELC (more red) is the same stuff and would also work well...? Why don’t use a filter with it? Because the filters have additives in them that the ELC coolant doesn’t need/want? I suppose you could use a filter without the additives in it...?

As I understand it, there was/is more than one type of coolant filter. To continue to use it AND use the treated antifreeze could result in an overdose of the chemical that prevents cavitation erosion (pit holes in the sleeves) and turn the coolant into what looks like butterscotch pudding, clogging the cooling system and causing catastrophic engine failure. You do what you want.

Yes a coolant filter is available without any chemical charge in it. A Baldwin B5134 has no chemical charge and you won't have to worry about butterscotch pudding.

A Baldwin dealer may not stock that filter but they can order them for you. I use them on an 8070 with a factory coolant filter base and on a 7000 and 190XTdiesel with an add on coolant filter. It keeps your coolant rust and particle free.
