Hey everyone!
First post and am trying to figure out the site still.

Anyways, I'm running an 2000 plow 4 furrow and wondering since it has bolt together frame (front and rear) if I'm able to put another few furrows on it.

I was able to find my father's allis 7030 tractor and get her back to working condition for most part, so horsepower isn't an issue.

Looking for the wisdom on here!

Thanks
Jeff

Yes, Allis made the "2000" plows so bottoms could be added - I had a 3 bottom with a 1 bottom extension many years ago. So that the plow turns dirt even, you will need to find a bottom (moldboard) that matches what you presently have.

Thanks Mikez,

Just the 2000 plow and the 7030(7060 Injector pump installed and timing corrected) tractor.   Rest of my fleet are Farmalls from grandfather and great uncle. Trying to keep as much from the family farms as possible.

There is a plow theme on the knowledge forum with some information on the 2000 plow. The hitch is versatile enough I took off the front bottom and was able to line up the second bottom with the tractor tire in the plow trench. 4-18 proved to be too much plow for my gas 4020. It had enough power to pull but in sticky ground the front wheels rose up way off the ground.

You may already know, but the AC 2000 plows had a few options.
What is your plows measurements?
- 4-14”?
- 4-16”?
- 4-18”?
Is your 2000 an early 28” or later 32” clearance height?
Which bottom numbers does it have 387, 392?

It's a 4-18.
It might have been drilled to except 387 drop hole shares.
It very well could be the 5 hole 392. As it has small bracket to take fifth bolt hole.

It has the spring cam reset but have a line on a 7 furrow hydro reset that I might trade up to

Yes, I agree. You may have a better time of it to just find a plow setup to your liking. Plow setup options can be numerous. Is your 4-18 an early(28”~71cm) or later(32” ~81.3cm)? If you’re not sure, you can measure the inches(cm) from leading(bottom) edge of plow share to bottom edge of monobeam square tube. If you decide to find a replacement plow, ask or look for the later 32” type. It does excellent in heavier crop residues like corn stalks.

You're planning to pull 7 bottoms with a 7030?  Well.....good luck.

Would not recommend 7 for a 7030 as they are getting old but I pulled 7 with mine for 10 years when I got it new, soil type makes a huge difference.       this was a 16 inch IH plow.

Hey tbone,

95% of my field I could pull 10 furrows but the 7 I am looking at can drop the last furrow to make it a 6.

Well, that's good farmboy.  I had a 2000 plow years back, and it was the nicest pulling nicest dirt turning plow I've ever pulled.  So, if it could be done, that'd be the plow to do it.

I can barely pull 6 with my 7045 on 75% of my ground, and there's fields where I wouldn't dream of trying...

Like I said, good luck, I didn't mean it negatively.

BTW, 7 bottoms of what, 18's also or 16's?  Makes more difference than most people think.
