been havin trouble digging up the drive when movin snow. finally figured out if i just let the torque of the tractor do the work at barely above an idle she'll do the work and skim right over top of the drive and the grass. takes a little longer but love runnin that ol girl. amazing the torque of that little engine. don't make em like that anymore.

Yep.  Until there's frost down about 4-5 inches, you'll have the edges of the blade trying to turn soil and carve gravel.  With it being so wet in there now, trying to move snow off is really a losing battle.  Although I really hate to do it, it's often better to just let a lighter snowfall sit, and then pack it into the gravel, so it freezes up tight, then the blade won't dig in.

The Allis 201 and 226 are incredible torquemonsters... compare the torque curves to your favorite V8 automotive/pickup truck engine, and you'll realize how much of a pooch those V's are.  Horsepower numbers mean nothing in a constant-RPM governed application.
