Hi, I'm new to this forum. I currently own 2- WD's, a "B" and a D12. I am trying to remove the camshaft from my WD as the gear teeth are gone that drive the oil pump. I have everything removed but the cam. It moves out about 3/8" and stops? Is there any secret clips that im missing or can i just maybe slide hammer it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated |

Do you have the oil pump removed and is the block inverted or are you holding the 8 cam followers (lifters) away from the cam with magnets or dowels? You should not need a slide hammer to remove the cam.

Ok im an idiot, my very first lifter had crept down and was catching. i had a crappy little magnet on it and cloths pins on the rest. Im to quick to ask before checking thoroughly. 1 more question though, when i install the magneto housing again does that gear need to be timed with the cam?
