Need to change my water pump, it's leaking from the seal. Can a new seal kit be ordered to rebuild the old one? Researching water pumps and found a bunch of new ones anywhere from $50.00 on up. Where are the new water pumps made? China, India, Taiwan? Where can the bent pipe be bought? The pipe that screws into the water pump and runs to the thermostat housing. Thanks, Tim

In fact a lot of the parts out of the U.S. are of questionable quality according to my mechanic on my cars, so I guess it would hold true on a lot of the tractor equipment. Leon

I have bought several new ones and they all worked fine. I looked for a rebuild kit, so far I haven't found any. A bypass hose is available through Agco or other vendors. I stock them also. Use a pipe nipple in the pump.

I bought the $50.00 new water pump, was made in India. Is it going to be any good? Time will tell. I used the tractor all day yesterday bush hogging, cutting wood and piling brush. No leaks yet!

Put aftermarket no core knock off on WD couple years ago. Seems to be ok. Was cheap enough. As Rusty says, time will tell.

Hmmm... Not sure where it came from, but my one WD has a new water pump from circa 2006 and the other one a new pump from circa 2009. They both seemed to work well.

Never had one of ours get returned. Kits are no longer available to rebuild. You can go on eBay and buy from a seller there and hope you get something good, or buy from one of the retailers here and know that we have been around a long time.

Our pumps certainly are not $50. But then I suppose the other sellers know what their product is worth

I gt one from Jim D several years ago for the B. I used it 3 years or so, before I sold it with no problem from the water pump. Ya get what ya pay for, sometimes not, when you use fleabay.

After market is after market. You can pay what you want. Higher price does not mean quality. Even Agco sells after market. Just my opinion.

I have sold HY-CAP reman water pumps for years and have had very few problems. For my two cents.

I'm not carrying a grudge here but l bought a new pump (from an advertiser on this site) and was told they are made in Turkey. I installed it with the cooling system staying dry while the tractor was parked in my shop (shouldn't really be any different than the pump laying on a parts shelf). A couple of years later I filled the system and ran the tractor with the water pump leaking generously out of the seal and out of the gasket on the back. Needless to say I was very disappointed but given the time from purchase 'til startup I thought it was pointless to let the seller know, I wouldn't expect it to be replaced anyway. On my other tractor (a WD) I replaced the water pump at least 25 years ago and it's still 100%. That was a rebuilt one from an automotive parts store. Now they don't have listings for them any more.
