Greetings all. Planning to fab a three point conversion on my '53 wd45 and I was wondering if someone might have the dimensions like the length and cross section of the bottom arms, length of vertical attachments, location of vertical attachment on the bottom arms and maybe a photo of where youre top link bolts on, and length of the top link. Many thank yous in Advance. As an aside not related to the post my machine is about the 300th 45 manufactured.

the3880, Top link should be a std from any tractor supply store, The dimension for the hole for the vertical lifts can be about the same dimension as the holes in the lift arms. if the side lift arms are solid (no adjustable dont make them too long. My guess is about 16 inches is close to what you want. The center attachment for the top link can be a U shaped bracket with hole: Center cross piece for drawbar is about 14 inches wide ish?? or about the same width as the Guide that holds the drawbar. Recalling from the past; Wait until the lower lift arms are positioned in working position before determining the length of top arm. This being determined by the mounting position and length of lower arms. I seem to remember 8-10 inches or so(this to mount a one row corn picker on a WD, mid '50's) and a little dusty on details. Top link was not needed until a carry-all came out of shop fabrication area. HTH ------------- |

That's the one I bought. Like the3880, I had visions of fabricating my own. In the end it was far more worth it to just buy that kit. Perfectly satisfied with it! ------------- I need more than 200 characters for my "signature." I'd love to see that changed to 250! |

The advantage to this type(the one pictured) 3 point kit, is that it foes not negate the tractor's traction booster draft control, if so equipped... If it were my tractor, I would prolly search local auctions, where AC stuff is being sold, and pick up an original AC made conversion. Don't know how plentiful these are, in your area, but around here, they are a few, still.
