Looking to fix up the cab floor, foam and headliner this winter and see that there are many choices. Looking to see if anyone has recently done a cab kit on a 7000 Series and what product did they use? Its not a 7000 series but I did an 8070 with a kit from Fehr cabs and am very pleased ------------- 1984 80780 1957 D14 DES 300 with 25000 engine 616 tractor |

| A few years ago I bought a floor mat from AGCO and the cab foam off Ebay, I have always had good luck with factory parts and don't mind paying a little more for quality. Well that floor mat only lasted about a year and it started to crack along the length of the cab, after about 1.5 to 2 years it was cracked all the way through to the insulation in 5 or 6 spots. I bought a shifter boot from sandy lake for the 6080 and it didn't even make it a year and it was all cracked and broken, now it is in about 4 pieces. Now all of these tractors set under cover when not in use. I then bought a cab kit from Fehr for another unit and it has been great for I think about 4 years now. |

| I put Fehr kits in 7045 and maroon 7060. Both live in the same conditions but the 7045 has some peeling of the vinyl from the foam in just a years time. Some of the glue has let loose and I think that it might be just and application error. I would use them again. Got some different adhesive to fix the loose stuff. Also some panels had exposed foam on the edges so I trimmed it back and rolled the vinyl over it. |

Ferh is a good choice. Used them on both combines and both 8070s. Very happy with product and will use them again. Be sure to state you have a black belly tractor. Fehr does good work on cab kits. If you feel something isn’t fitting right, call them & they will talk with you about it. I'd like to find a floor mat that is closer to the original style. The new floor mats I've had crack.... especially if you have to pull it out in cold weather. The old mats were layered with a thick pad underneath. Thanks for the guidance. Fehr it is then. Many people above say that is the way to go. I suspect I need to do a good job on cleaning the old foam and/or adhesive off. Is there a good product that I need to use to do that? Don't want to kill myself with fumes doing it though! I would like to freshen up some of the paint inside cab, but that has the same issues on smelling paint for a long time in the cab. Any good ideas on that task? I will try the floor mat from Fehr too. I started using the 1/2 inch cow mats. Takes a little planning and effort, but ii will probably be the last one you need. Do it in two sections. Have it in the 200, N5, and the 7080 is next. Saber saw and hole saw.....The 200 mat was gone and I put it right over the metal floor. really cut the noise. The 200 was the first one and I did front and rear section, but should have done right and left section because of the under the floor battery box. It does not move around, buckle, or crack.....Dale

Dale, Sounds like a good idea. I have some of those stall mats from TSC on hand. I will have to make a pattern even if I cut it into two pieces. I will take advice on left and right, instead of front and back. Appreciate the idea. | I like using 3M adhesive remover for taking off old glue residue. You should wear a respirator if you do. In my case I also used wire brushes to get the rust and dirt off. I don't think those surfaces were painted where the foam panels were glued on. Wore a dust mask for that. Surfaces must be clean to give the new glue a chance. |
