How would be the best way to break it loose?

You mean "seized up" as in it was running and lugged down and stalled??? or it has been sitting outside in the weather for the last 20 yrs and is now "stuck" ???

pull plugs, pour 50/50 mix of ATF/Acetone into the plug holes, walk away for a day..
put pipewrench on PTO shaft, engage PTO, gently tug on pipewrench a little. if it moves STOP. all more 50/50 mix, walk away for another.
repeat this add mix, tug, walk away until you can use wrench to rotate the engine.
patience is the key to this !
My first D-14 sat for 25+ years, it took 2 weeks of 'add/tug/walk', but she runs GRET now....

My H farmall was stuck, a poured ATF and PB Blaster down each cylinder. Then put in 5th gear and rocked the tractor once every other day or two for about two weeks.

 Welcome to the forum. Bring some pictures of your 45 when you get a chance too.
 Seized up can mean many things.  I believe they need to be taken apart to find the issue. There is a reason and sometimes its not good.

I've done 3 engines with equal parts, solvent, Xylene and ATF. The Xylene penetrates better than acetone.

For my Oliver 70, it sat about 20 years, I squirted 3 oz, in each cylinder, with a cattle syringe, let set for 2 days, took a pry bar to the flywheel and it broke loose. turned it about 2 teeth, each direction, let it set a day, turned it a little more and added more of my mix. Waited another day and was able to get a complete revolution, did one more rev and put the starter back on and it spins over, easy, to easy. Put a compression gauge on and it had 5 lb compression :(

I've done one, 302 Ford and I'm doing a second one, right now. Both out of the car with pan and heads off. I poured my mixture in 4 cylinders at a time, wait 2 days and you can see some of the mixture gone on some cylinders and completely gone, on others and the bottom of the cylinders wet on all.

Put enough in to over fill the bowls in pistons.      MACK

Good point.

There is a little less than 30cc per oz so my 3 oz is about 90cc. I actually used 100cc, in the syringe.

A D17 piston has a cup of about 60cc (I don't know the spec for a WD45) so, you might put 5 oz (150cc) to make up for the cup.

One more thing, do not spin the engine, with the plugs in it, as a full cylinder could "hydraulic" and if it does spin, look out for the oil spray. Don't ask how i know!

A good way to loosen the engine with very little effort is to put a pipe wrench on the power take off, trans in neutral, and tie a long 4X4 to the pipe wrench with a concrete block hanging on the end. Add your lubricant of choice and walk off. No stress to any of the components.     Leon
