Well,, we just got back from The Renal Center and the wife is gonna have to start Dialisis as soon as they can get all the arrangements completed,,,,Talk about some news that will kick you right square in the face,,,it just leaves you with no place to go as the Dr told me the kidneys are one organ that cannot repair itself and once the damage is done, not much to look forward to except Dialisis. Dr said they will start her at 2 hours per day and progress to bout 4 hours per day three times a week. What a revolting development,,,,,,,

Joe, sorry to hear the unwelcome news. Will be praying for Joyce and you as you go through this latest set back. Depend on the Lord to get both of you through this. Is there a possibility of a transplant?

Joe, I am so sorry to hear that news...it done kicked any wind I had outta me this morning... Cuzz I know what it is going to be like for both of you... No dam fun. My father was on dialysis for seven years... and the doc said that once your on, that was about how long the patients last. And he was always tired after that. They couldn't figure out why his kidneys shut down because he didn't have diabetes. I figured if he could have done it at home and slowly weaned himself off it, he could have maybe made it longer, like another fellow in the community did... and if that fellow behaved himself he got along pretty well. see if you can get it done in home.... and maybe dial her back slowly... instead of pushing for 4 hours.... --- dad was on monday wed and fridays.... Sunday, he would start to feel like something but then Monday would roll around and back down he would go to being tired again. I don't ever want to start that process...
Prayers from here too for the both of you.

Joe I really don’t know what to say. I wish I could be of help. I am truly honored to know that you ( my good friend) are such a good man and quick to do what is right. Your dedication is evident to all the rest of us. Like Hubert says, the Lord is there. Lean on him. More prayers head out for Joyce and some for you and the boys.

Joe, My wife had kidney failure and had to do dialysis. Ask them if she is a candidate for "peritoneal dialysis". It can be done at home overnight while she sleeps. It has to be done every night, but good part is it's while she sleeps, and you can still travel and do many things. If the doc isn't a fan, look for a second opinion of a kidney specialist that does support this process and get a second opinion. It was much easier and didn't leave you on the cycle of ups and downs like traditional dialysis does. Highly recommend it.

My sympathies and prayers for you both. I recently lost my soulmate to renal failure. We have some beautiful grandkids to remember her by. I would say we have beautiful kids, but they’re both boys so yeah they’re pretty much knot heads lol.

My prayers are with you and your wife Joe and please take care of yourself. Not sure if you have any family close or if the church could help by taking her to her treatments maybe just once a week to give you a break every now and then?
God bless and keep you both.

Well,,,the wife did her first Dialysis treatment yesterday and I was surprised that she came outa there looking and feelin pretty good. It was a 4 hour session and she tells me it did not pain her and almost wanted to doze off but being first time she just did a lot of lookin around. Amazing to look at all them machines with all thet blood just goin round and round,,!! We have always liked the oldies and I have recorded many hundreds of 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's music, so,,I'm gonna cut some new CD's as most of the older ones are pretty scratched up, then go get her a CD player with ear muffs
That center is a pretty impressive place with bout 12 stations which I thought was a lot for such a small town!! I had no idea there were so many people with renal issues, includin some that I knew. Imagine what a Renal center in like Chicago or New York would look like,,,!!!
