What is the trick to getting the oil pan off the engine? When I drop the pan, I can't remove it because there is something blocking it from sliding down and rearward? Looks to be the timing gear? I can't drop it straight down because the tie rod bar is still on the tractor? Does that tie rod bar need to come off in order to drop the pan?

Tie rod has to be dropped at least on one side.

Thanks. Any tips on removing the tie rod? I can't get the tie rod to budge? I have tried the pickle fork? sledge hammer, next is heat but I'll probably end up damaging the boot. Uhgg....

8 ft long prybar. One big person pulling downwards on prybar forcing tie rod down. Someone else strikes the very rear portion of the eye that is holding the tie rod. I use a 4 lb hammer. Leave nut on but loosened to catch things when it breaks free. NO HEAT.
