Since it's raining for the next 3 or 4 days I thought I would install this kit. The rear shocks are pretty straight forward with existing holes to locate spud mounts but the front shocks, I'm not so sure about the location. The instructions that came with the kit, to me, are clear as mud. I can't tell where exactly the spuds get welded. The drawing is poor but I get the general area of where they go. I just don't understand their measurement of 3". Where is that measured from?
There has to be an exact measurement to locate the front shock spuds. That's the jist of what I need to know. Thanks for any help.
OH, this is on a 1996 R52, serial number 56xxx.

Supposed to keep the feeder chains from hammering in tough green stem soybeans. Got it from AGCO to do both feeder chains..... $600 which for what it is seems steep but then prices shouldn't surprise me anymore. Just another acre of soybeans spoken for.

Thanks Steve, I looked at what they had but it doesn't give any measurements. I guess I'll put in the rear ones first then going buy that and the pics from hypermods. I'll probably figure it out. There are a couple 62s in the area I could look at if they are similar to a 52.

OK I studied the crappy drawing in the instructions and figured it out after taking a look at my cousin's R65, it is different as my 52 is prior to serial number 58XXX. and so I just stared at the drawing and my R52. Figured out what looked like dots were actually arrows in the drawing. OK got it, 50 year old eyes and crappy copy.
The 3" measurement is taken from the rear edge of the heavy plate, forward. The 3/4" measurement is taken from the top edge of the heavy plate, down. That marks center of the lower spud.
I drilled and tapped a hole for a 5/16" bolt at that spot, just to hold the spud solid while I welded it. I didn't drill more than a 1/2" deep. Worked great. Front shocks are installed. Tomorrow the rear.

Glad to hear you figured it out. I think Dan Hurtt is the one who pioneered the feeder shock adaption.
