OK, Have a 3 furrow 'parts' plow( 1 of the poity things is busted...). Can someone please ID the model ? I'm thinking of tearing it apart and reworking it into a 2 furrow plow.
I need to make a beaming screw piece ,big nut from 2" trailer ball fits !
Thanks Jay

I can't tell but if the plow shank is not angled forward it should be a 50 series.

Dennis Anderson has a video on how to" I'D an Allis plow. I'll look for the link.....

Looks like it was a pin hitch plow with CA lift arm latches(missing).  is there a ring on the front or an arrow head?

It looks as though the width is adjustable.

Flip it over, if it has hook and bolt shares, its a 53...

The adjustable width makes it a 70 IIRC. There is a report on plows over on the  Farm Equipment Knowledge Base that includes maybe workable links to plow parts and bottom books to help identify the plow. Titled AC Plows Parts 101. It describes the plow frames details. Different eras of plows were fixed width frames, then adjustable width frames, then plow shanks anchored by screws, or later by spring loaded latches, so when a plow bottom snagged a big rock the effect on the plow was different.

Looks like that rare adjustable model 53. but the right angle rods are a mystery. I've been wrong before.

Looks likme someone put 50 series stub beams on a 70 series frame.

sigh... sounds likeI have a 'frankenplow'......
so more questions... I assume 53  means series 50, 3 furrow so I'd like to make it into a '52'.
What are the laying down 'L' shaped rods or bars for ?
I've had it for 10 years and thought it'd be nice to turn into a WORKING  plow....instead of a lawn ornament.

The adjustable width frame (as it appears to be) is 70 series design. The problem is everything else appears to be 50 series. Look at the pull tongue and the front coulter. That sure isn't 70 series !!

DrAllis is right on. 70 series frame and about everything else is 50 series. This does not mean that it will not work, you just have a very interesting plow. It will make a lot of people scratch their head in wonder!

Nice, I've got a 'hybrid' so it'll be economical to use !! hehehehehe......
I've started fabbing up a frame end of the beaming screw assy....got most of the steel then whacked my hand.... so... short day today... yeesh I gave pint #100 on Monday, can't afford to splatter any more 'red' for awhile....

That is EXACTLY like mine, 53-14, except for the right-angle rods - looks like maybe someone tried a DIY trash management solution.

OK, here's what I made in 5 hours today. It's a replacement of the thing the  beaming screw, screws into. Not up to factory specs, but it fits. There's two trailer ball nuts (15/16" fine thread) welded inside the tube. Yeah, it'll easily outlive me.....sigh. Sure wish I'd used one nut to 'chase'( clean up) the threads on the beaming screw FIRST though......

Buy another nut, and cut a slot through it, with a whizzer wheel, if you don't have a die the correct size...Wink

funny thing.. I can buy a chrome trailer ball WITH nut and locknut CHEAPER than  a 15/16" fine thread nut only from 'nut and bolt ' place !
Once Mr. Sun comes here, I'll tackle the beaming screw,it's actually not bad, though I doubt I can actually angle the blade up/dn due to rust in the 'lifting' section.
One day I have to learn all the proper names....

Lift arm latches go on the lift arm of the tractor.
Lift straps, or turnbuckles go on the plow. Wink
