My wife Shirley was just informed this weekend that she has been accepted for membership in The Daughters Of The American Revolution DAR.  Spent almost 2 years researching her family background to make a connection from her to a Patriot who fought in the Revolutionary War. Was a great experience and learned a lot.

Congrats!! Both sides of my family arrived from Europe between 1885-1900.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Congratulations! That is quite an honor. I grew up just a few miles from the Kettle Creek Battlefield. The county historical society is in the process of doing some major upgrades to the site.

Congratulations. My wife is also a member. No joke about how much research and time it takes. She has a cedar chest at the end of our bed that’s nothing but family history papers. She’s doing my family history as well.

After been  dam Yankees, for 150 years, my family came to KY in 1790's  to claim their 1000 ac land warrant for serving in the AR.
A number of my female family members are  in the DAR.
