whats the easy way to change wheels on a 7040,,unbolt the rim from the center  or  unbolt the center from the axle,,dought eather have ever been removed

A lot less weight to handle by unbolting the rim from the center. Removing the center from the axle would require the puller bolts for the tapered hub.

Agree with Joe(TX). Alot easier to take rim loose from cast center.       MACK
