Am I the only one that has problems with a steiner battery box fitting? They act like I am crazy. The post tab on 2 new boxes is 1/4" or more different than 4 old boxes I have and of course they will not fit on my 2 C's, B or CA. I did get one on by oblonging bottom holes 2xand tab hole and a pry bar. The po1 powder finish was ok until they put it in a cardboard box to be scuffed on the ride here.

I guess that is 5 tractors that came from allis different, but still doesn't account for 4 old different manufacturer battery boxes having that tab in a different place than steiners. As far as I know, the boxes come from Kendallville.
They think I am crazy about the fitment. They advertise PO1 powder coat. I mentioned that was nice, but scuffed in shipping. They said it was only for protection, not meant to be a finish coat.
I am thinking of making a you tube video on how to install a steiner battery box on an Allis B C CA while I have all 3, it won't be flattering. Fortunately I have "PO1" powder to recoat them after the modification, you can tell the difference in color.
When i get some samples coated, I will be selling some powder.

Powder coating a battery box is, well, silly... Once the first, itty, bitty, sliver of a crack happens the entire box WILL be ruined. ANY 'opening' in the plastic allows moisture(water, battery acid) to get between the plastic and the raw steel. Rust quickly forms, pushing the plastic out, bigger space, more water or acid gets in, pushing the plastic out, bigger space,... this continues until sheets of the krap come off, the steel is rusted and yuck.... I spent 3 days removing the krap off my Millcreek 25G spreader, then used 'old skool' enamel paint, 2 light coats. It's as thick as pcoat but far better.
Sorry for the rant but I've yet to see ONE item powder coated that actually survives regular use. Stuff that has failed includes.. lawn furniture, even 1000$ sets, utility trailers( 1 , 3 years old...),sigh...

Yep signs of Chinesesium, made in the land of almost right, by kids almost old enough, so things just need to be close enough to look right. Steiner Bros ought to be ashamed. Need to start checking more closely on their products.Powder Coat is the cat's meow out the other end. Sweep up the powder off the floor at the end of run and add it to the next batch.

powder takes prep too. I've saw plenty of abuse.
