Hi everyone. I just started on this forum as I am new to the tractor world. I have been recently given a nice running 1951 Allis Chalmers CA, serial number "CA 635". My question is, can I upgrade the pin hook up to the newer snap coupler set up from another newer model CA? I want to use the tractor to pull some simple implements for working on my small deer food plot. The hydraulics work fine as I have already tested it. I know I could buy implements that will hook up to a ball on the draw bar but they are pricey and I sort of like the idea of using original parts. Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

Hey welcome to another Wisconsinite. Sorry I can't answer your question but there are alot of knowledgable  helpful people here. Where in WI are you?

Yes you can add the Snap Couple bell, but you have to alter the lift arms for the proper lift latches to fit.
The pin hitch lift arms have a little "hangy down" piece with an extra hole, compared to the SC lift arms.

Why not just get a pin hitch 3pt adapter. I did and it worked great. I put the pin hitch back on later. The woods belly mower dosent work with a snap couple the bell gets in the way with a pin hitch I can have a hitch with the belly mower installed. I put the pin hitch adapter on one of my WEd 45s and it workes hreat there also

Don't need to cut down the lift arms. I use mine with both pin and snap coupler implements.

I thought the lift latches wouldn't fit right with the extra part on the bottom of the pin hitch lift arms.

They work well but they are a little loose and pivot on the bolt. Since I have both pin & Snap-Coupler equipment I have no need to cut the arms down. One benefit to leaving the arms long is have lift snap-coupler equipment a bit higher off the ground.
