I'm glad SOMEONE's got good garden results.  It was so darned wet here this spring, that we weren't able to get ANYTHING of the 'early' crop planted, and it was so wet when we finally got the later stuff, that lots of it didn't come up at all.  We DID get radishes in late, and the first round came up and produced quick, the later rounds didn't.  The potatos, beans, cucumbers sprouted, then it got dry and hot.  We got small potatos, and tall, fruitless beans so far, and one tiny cucumber.

I'm not sure why SHE says 'not to water' the garden... but that's her order, so I follow it, when I know she's lookin'...  Disapprove

Garden is doing great here in the Newton Ia. area. Like Shameless, not sure what to do with all the cucumbers. These dang Burpee's get huge! Still good too. Tomatoes  are starting to get ripe, will be overrun with them soon, best eggplant crop I've ever had. First planting of sweetcorn is about done and the second is just about ready. Only had to water once, thought about it a couple other times but got a timely rain.

She's got 4 darn zukinni plants in the garden. Its been so dry and hot here, even with watering most everything else has dried up and died. Not those darn things. I wonder if that young feller "shameless" would be needing a pickup load of them. I'd be glad to share, sorta like we got shared with last winter.    Old gal just frys them up like she does mushrooms. There's a 5 gallon bucket full of them sitting by the door now. I wish she'd plant some cukes.   I sure like them.

made sum pickled cucumbers tonight, they are in the fridge right now and will be put in the freezer tomarrow, dunno if we did it right yet, but will find out soon enough. also made LOTS more cucumber salads, they too are in the fridge, will be taking more into coffee in the morning, everyone I gave sum to loved it! whew! we have been making aronia jelly the past 2 days/nights. have both the sugared and the non sugared jelly. the non-sugared jelly seems to be a lot more berry flavorful. I think we'll make more of it.

Old gal said we are gonna have the same thing next week with tomatoes. Shucks 3 days ago she told me all that stuff burnt up. I guess 3 rains of 1/2" each make a big difference. Unfortunately the only people around to pick them is gonna be a grandson. We got shows and stuff to do the next weeks. Now she's gonna be a bellyaching about the darn stuff not being picked, etc. Looks like sweet corn is gonna be ready too.

Shameless after being served actual GREEN eggs in the army I ain't been able to eat cooked eggs since 1968.
If they are cooked in a cake, pie crust, bread I can do that. I can't even stand to be in the same house while they are being cooked. Now if she'd grind the dam things up and make them into a mile long zukinni bread I can chow down on that stuff.
