Well,,I finally gave up fightin it and made an appointment to get this old rotten molar pulled on btm jaw. Thet sob was in there,, I'll tell you for sure. I'm sure glad The dentist was a big dude bout 228 # else a smaller person would not have been able to pull it out.  He finally had to use a water drill to cut it in half as he could not pull like it was. That right there is why the whole right side of my face is still swollen pretty good from 11 am this mornin ,,,,,
He gave me some pretty stout pain meds codine laced tylenol and it finally kicked in half an hour ago,,,,hope I can get some sleep. I sure don't wish this on nobody,,,,,,

Well at least ya know you'll feel better soon. Its just getting through this phase now that you've punished yourself long enough. I know nobody likes going to the dentist medically or financially, at least I don't. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite, but if they do, hit em over the head with a shoe till their eyes turn black & blue, then they won't bite you. See I'm a poet and don't know it, I'm Longfellow. Get out of here already. OK I will.

Joe, hope most of the pain is gone when you wake up. Some people pay good money to get some of those pills that make them have weird dreams. Confused You will be glad you had it pulled once you get all healed up.

Yep - have 2 and a wisdom tooth that should come out - but no pain so they might just stay until .
Went to a Aspen Dental place about 2 years back, free exam - free x rays and a free estimate in office managers office - Only $10,000 and they will take payments , can take out their dental insurance for $200 and it will cut bill to $8,000 - can start in 2 days after my credit is checked . (ever get the feeling your a fish and someone has a spear)
Last year went to another dentist - 1 cavity she said $$240 for composite filling needed . Took x ray of a tooth I said was bothering me - got a prescription for antibiotic - no problem since .

Well Wink since they were there you put more bacon and eggs on for all the helping hands.LOLLOLLOL

Dang you stay safe, for they lock you up as being a danger to the whole neighborhood.LOL

Wink Hows that ditty go....... Tires, tracks, and titties all end up costing big money. I think teeth need to be added to that list. I got by cheap for 30 years then all them cheap fillings when I was a kid started falling out. An then after 50 years they took my Wink wisdom. An with my wonderfull's insurance that includes dental and vision ConfusedConfusedConfused they have seen fit I needed to spend more on root canals. Surprisingly they have not been bad on the pain end until they get into my wallet. And they all ooh a aw over how good the dental benefits are as they dig in my pocket ConfusedConfusedConfused. So I hope all cash paying folks are treated better.

I sure wish I hadn’t read this post.
Last time I went to a dentist was 1986. He was a traveling dentist set up in an old bread truck. I went to see him and he said my lower wisdom teeth needed to come out. He hired a girl off the street to run the suction hose. She gave me shots in the top gum but the teeth were in the bottom gum. They gave me 11 shots. He told me I shouldn’t feel a thing that’s when I told him to give me one in the bottom gum. He asked the girl where she gave the shots she said the top. One more and to work he went. It was grown in my jaw bone and he had to grind away a lot of bone and break the tooth to get it done. I got an arm loose and punched him in the face. He got mad and really went to work. The girl running the suction hose passed out. It took 4 hrs to get it done. I wound up in the hospital to get the bleeding stopped. He gave me 500 Perkidans??? Which my sis in law flushed down the toilet. I had a rough few days after that. The dentist left that part of the country after a couple more episodes like that. He told me to take the other wisdom tooth to the grave.
I haven’t been to a dentist since that day. Fast forward Jenny has me an appointment set up and that other wisdom tooth has been giving me some trouble. I’ve honestly never dreaded anything like I’m dreading this appointment.
Still to this day you can feel a gouge out of my jaw.

Have one currently has a gold crown on it and a root canal several years ago, has started shifting around a lot, does not so much hurt but rather the gum area puffs up mad as it gets off line and my bite changes. Likely it is due to leave as have a few others.

Back in my high school days had an old dentist with an office above the local hardware store. He did not use any deadening for filling teeth, just started grinding . OUCH!!! Lost two front teeth during my first year of college and had a four unit bridge put in, it is still there 52+ years later. Now I go to the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning and checkup, only a few minor fillings over the years.  And having a dental hygienist that is easy on the eyes makes the visits more pleasant. Advice to the younger Forum members: take care of those teeth, they are the only good set you will ever have.

Thad, I probably would have punched him more that once. Here in Georgia both of them would have gone to jail. Anyone doing any dental work has to be licensed by the state. And he would have lost his license for letting her do any dental work.

Had my wisdom teeth taken out when I was in the Air Force.  Had a short Army dentist do it.  I swear he climbed up on my chest and used a hammer and chisel to take out the bottom ones!  He told me when he was gonna take another whack at it.  I didn't talk too much for a couple days!

Hubert I’m sure his truck wouldn’t pass inspection either. I was out west working when this happened. He told me himself that they gave me more shots than the law allowed and my sis in-law said giving me all those pain pills could have landed him in jail.
I sure hope the dentist Jenny s sending me to is a real one.

My wisdom teeth would never fully grow out of the gums, not impacted just not enough room where the dentist finally sent me to a oral surgeon. Knocked my arse OUT and took all four at once awoke to a sweet little gal talking soft to wake me up, made my day at 20.

My teeth always been bad for fillings and decay, Dad had bad teeth ended up losing all the uppers in the Navy both his parents had false teeth, both grands on mom's side had false teeth too. Mom worked diligently on hers all the time, still had cavities and had to have some removed.

My older brothers' teeth were crooked as a bad laid fence, both had gum issues, were absolutely obsessed with brushing and flossing as is my younger brother, they lost teeth early think one Lost five in a year almost nothing for tooth roots for them. Me, tooth care took second rate to almost anything else, lost wisdoms early, have lost three in last eight years, mid sixties and still have Most of my originals with one bridge and a few crowns. Roots on my teeth are so deep the dentist HATES to do root canal or dealing with a removal as is defined work, not just a tug and gone.

Sure not good memories bout that,,,,LOL
