Are WD and WD45  (gas) tanks interchangeable?

WD and WD 45 are exactly the same. 

WF and WC are the same as the WD, except the fuel outlet is on the right side. (Some tanks had gas outlets on both sides.)

Ta might watch,, some of the early WD's did not have a dimple where the hydraulic rod gets close to the tank on the right hand side,, this change occurred when the rod to the pump changed size,, early WD have a 1/4" rod.....later ones (WD's) and the 45's have like a 3/8" rod
I don't know when this change occurred
