I bought a FORD 4600 2 wheel drive tractor with a 3.3 diesel motor for the son to use cutting grass at the farm.  I "think" the oil levels were all OK are relatively new to start with. I went over today after he has run 10 hours to do a little mower work.. I pulled the motor dip stick and it was 2 quarts over full. I checked the radiator and the transmission and both are OK.. Steering was  about 6 oz low... My first guess is fuel dilution, but I don't "smell" diesel in the oil.. Going to do a little more checking, but wondering about additional things to check.. Looked on You Tube and they talk about overhauling the pump with new O-rings as a "not to bad job".......... saw another post somewhere that said " look at return line inside the valve cover".... and "leaking injectors".........

Im not sure it is diesel and not sure about the original oil level, but if I DID gain 2 quarts over a period of 10 hours, that don't seem like a leaking injector... Any experience on where to look first ?  Most COMMON problem ?

Sounds more like your shaft seal on the power steering pump is leaking since the PS is low

well , that is surely a possibility joe... but I drained 2 quarts out of the  motor sump, and added 6 oz to the steering....... but I cant verify ORIGINAL levels so I will keep that in mind and MONITOR... just looking for good ideas on checks , if I missed something.

agreed. I was reading on my phone, didn't catch the 2 qts in 10, It is definitely of the age the the pump seal could have failed

The DPA pumps do have shaft seal failure on occasion, and it puts fuel in the oil.
