I have to install a JD Baletrak Monitor in the cab of my tractor and I have Acousta Cab II with working AC, so I don't want to run wires in and out of windows. Looks like someone put a small hole in the rear of cab for wires in between the small windows, but my bale wiring harness is much bigger for a JD 467 baler. My thought was to drill that hole out larger for connecting monitor to the baler. However, I have to run power to the Monitor from the battery or from the dash, and not sure if there would be a hole already made in the bottom of the cab for this or if there was something there already? This baler also has turn signals so I thought I could tap into the wiring behind the dash to make those work. I think that dash just has two bolts at the bottom holding it, right? My current thought is that I would run wires from dash for power and turn signals to the monitor, so that the key would power them both. Going to put the monitor mount on the right with some kind of L bracket to the cab. Any ideas would be appreciated! I didn't want to drill hole in the right dash shield but not sure if I have any other choice, if I don't go directly to the battery and through the bottom. | Pull power off the battery run it under the cab and up through the shifter cable holes. I mounted my monitor stand off the existing bolts on the rear of the control stand. |

| I found I could route harness cables in front of the brake pedals through an opening there. Then drop straight down to the batteries.There is likely supposed to be some sort of cover there but is not on mine. Length of cables may determine routing and monitor placement. I am also working on a signal harness wired to the flasher and lighting circuit. In a parts book ther is a bracket assembly shown for such a harness that attaches to top of rear end housing using existing threaded holes. |

I need to do the same thing, but with a Vermeer baler, that moniter cable is kinda big,and I really don't want to cut any holes...I don't think I'll have any problems with the power wires.. Or I might put it on the 8010.... I would tie in the signal/warning and lighting to the wiring under the cab,,now that's where them wires are at on my 7060 maroon belly.. |

Thanks guys. Upon reading these two options, the brake pedal idea sounds more appealing but I will look at both options tonight. Not sure I picture where you mounted the bale monitor on "rear of control stand" unless that is what I consider the dash. I want to do basically what you are doing on the signal harness. Would you have any pictures of the bracket assembly and placement? I noticed there are a bunch of wires running under the cab towards the rear on the left side that could be used possibly for the signals. I see a yellow and green one going up through the cab post, I think. I use a test light to find out what wire does what, but yellow and green are the turn/warning lights.. Sorry...your on your own for the plug in for the tail lights... I don't have a picture,,if ya got a owners book, it might show something |

Thanks for clarification. Most put them facing forward, but I could see an advantage of that location if you turn around and look at your equipment on a constant basis. I see now what you did. Thanks for the pic. I believe my power cable to be larger than yours and that space won't work like you did it. First post is harness leaving the cab and going to baler. Going out the back of the cab to the baler, I want to try and reuse this white hole. I don't know if that is original or the prior owner installed that but hole is already there. The other pictures are directly under the cab on the left. Shows where I would install my four prong electrical mount by reusing that hole to secure an L bracket. Pretty sure those wires carry lights, turn signals and flasher since it goes straight up the cab post from the bottom. The green wire is already rubbed bare so I will test it to see if I am right. Not sure what the dead end wire is for but the light on the fender doesn't work. So, may be for that. You will see two pics where I show a screwdriver above cab floor and below cab floor. There is a hold there directly below the Brakes. My thought is to run conduit on the floor so as to not restrict brakes pedals along the black line to front of cab, if I can. If this can't happen then I will drill a hole in the floor above the batteries and then run conduit up to the BaleTrak Pro monitor. Floor is in good shape so I don't have any rust holes. John Deere requires that the electrical kit be connected directly to the battery for this monitor so everything is right there. From the monitor, I will run a set of hooks to keep the cable out of the way to the hole in the back of the cab along the seam where the windows lock. I will have to cut a big hole since the bale monitor has about 1.5 inch connector. See pics below. Any flaws in my logic would be appreciated. This should keep the operator cool and in full A/C and the bale monitor operational.
