Hey folks,
I have a 6690 that is stuck in rabbit. the 1-4 shifting works fine. I went to shift into lo(turtle) yesterday and the shifter had no resistance at all. I looked underneath and the ball/socket connection had come undone. I got it back into place and it doesn't want to move. any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. disclaimer I'm about as novice as they come on repair stuff.

We also have a 6690 we bought new that only has 900 hours on it and we have already replaced two of those chintzy ball and socket linkages. We are fortunate that Agco still has these parts but if this problem continues maybe we should buy a dozen just to have them! Did you replace the bad linkage? Is it still stuck in that gear afterwards? Those three shift levers are junk. You never really know what gear you are in. Ryan

What I find that works best is to gently "GENTLY" rock the tractor forward and backward until the direction you are wanting falls into place. Not Rocket Surgery, but works every time.
