So I belong to numerous other forums, and this always proves to be one of the most popular posts in regards to ongoing activity. It gives people a place to drop in and post pics and descriptions of their activities with their favorite tractor.

So I will start it off.

Wednesday I brought home my restored 1939 model B. Last night I picked up my Slow Moving Vehicle sign so I am legal to cruise around town when the rain finally stops! Today will be dedicated to further cleaning and converting the straight plug wires to 90* boots until I can figure out the correct original style plug wires and terminals.

I drove by it in the rain today. It is sitting at a job 1 1/2 miles away in the rain with a Miller Lite can over the exhaust. I WAS grading a lot at a new home construction job. But it has rained 4 inches. Rain forecasted every day except tomorrow until May 1.What a soggy mess! Went out to central Illinois Thursday and water standing Everywhere!!

Bush hogged brush on a few acres with one of the WD's to clear some more pasture.  Made a couple of rounds in the other pasture with the other WD and tandem disc, but still a little to wet in some areas so it can wait another few days.

On the CA, took the back blade off and put the draw bar on.

Cut and burned a bunch of dead spruce last weekend. Had a chain on the back blade so I could hook it onto the trees and use the hydraulics to lift one end off the ground before dragging to the burn pile.

Tons of brush on the ground yet in the yard...time for the wagon...Gotta have the draw bar on to use that!

Used my WD to pull a hay wagon full of old decking lumber to the burn pile. 2 trips to get more seat time. I love the foot throttle on it. Ole girl purred like a kitten.

Used the WD to take the kicker off my NH 270 baler ... Used the WD to run some "test" bales through said aforementioned baler... removed loader from WD *(twice)  .... attempted to plow the garden with the 3 bottom on the WD ... tinkered with the plow because i couldn't figure out why the plow wouldn't "plow"    (third moldboard doesn't dig in)

gave up on that

Tinkered with the CA air cleaner (cu[p keeps falling off)  ... then took said CA out to the hay field for some afternoon picnicking with the wife.

Used 2 5015's, one with front loader to dig out and eliminate some pot hot holes. Used the other one to grade driveway after making some new blades for the homemade 3 point grader. Then topped off with 9+ ton of new stone and graded. 17 tenants that use it should be happy.

Recently-
160- bush hogged a bunch of blueberry prunings. Replaced the rear remote outlets.   Changed the hydraulic filter and fluid, cleaned that inlet strainer. Used the Power Adjust rims and set to plowing width.  I should have plowed and disked my garden, but the soil is saturated. Last year I planted May 4 th. This year may be a bust. Swamp land.

720-York-raked the driveway. Aerated the lawn.

Made list of parts needed for #7 mower (see want ad in classified). Fetched my ca from my uncles place to get drawbar built. I got tired of walking around the 175D that has sat in the barn for 4 years and put a new wiring harness in it. I have been wanting to make another harness before I used this one, but it wasn't happening....so after 4 years and 4 hours of work it fired right up and is another horse to use. It joins 5 other 175 diesels doing the bulk of the work around here.

Our D-14, Martha, hasn't been herself for a couple of years; usable but not happy.  Then last fall, she started stuttering every couple of seconds and no longer had any oomph.  A good friend who knows a lot more than me, came by now and then and helped troubleshoot.  New governor, rebuilt carb, and other efforts seemed to help and last week during a compression test, we discovered that the porcelain on one of the plugs had cracked open.  Off to NAPA for new 295's and $7.49 later and with a little fine tuning Martha was like a new tractor.  Next time, we'll check the plugs first!  Wait...what next time?

So anyway, yesterday, with 70 degrees and plenty of sunshine, I found all sorts of chores for her, bush hoggin' and trailer totin' and just ridin' around.

So that's what I've done to and with our AC.

Beautiful day here for a change, so for the very FIRST time, I took the little B out for a stroll down the city alleys and around the block! I also ordered a new seat back cushion, the correct blue long A and S decal set, a side step to help me get on and off (I have MS so it's a little bit of a challenge), and some reproduction ignition wires.

A few weeks ago I used my AC flail chopper (#56?) to suck up some windrows of weedy hay I'd cut last fall.  Worked great.  Two weeks ago I fired up the 8030 and plowed a couple acres with my 4 bottom IHC spinner plow and planted about a acre of spring red wheat and acre of Kumute, Egyptian wheat. Will be harvesting them with the All Crop 60.

John I have pretty much leveled off on the collecting, even sold a few and hoping to sell a lot more. We are working on getting the place here that I built on the market in the next week or two and moving to 3 acres across the road. We bought a winter home in St. George, UT and hopefully will be splitting time between here and there. Still will be doing custom tilling and mowing in the summers up here, maybe get Robin to grow and sell a few veggies again.....

Dave, you're making me want to try plowing with my CA. Let's see how many years it takes before I get there. Here are the steps necessary;
1)Procure a second CA, (preferably a NFE) to mount belly mower on. Have a line on one actually!
2)Remove and replace manifold/straight-pipe with new manifold and muffler. Have parts, need time.
3)Get charging system to work. Generator good, going to shop for the fix.
4) Get the belly mower off the tractor.
5)Get to work on my pin hitch 2-14 plow and convert to snap-couple.
6)Find some shares for said plow that are not worn out.
7)Mount wheel weights on tractor, already painted.
I think that's most of the steps, wonder how many years before it happens!
I suppose getting the second CA mower worthy should have been in there somewhere. This could take a while.

Don't take this the wrong way, is not a criticism either. The intent for the post is to provide a place to drop in and let others know of your AC activities for the day. This can certainly be something you did "to" your AC, but also something you did "with" your AC. Either way, your enjoying your AC.

I think I made a breakthrough today with one of my WD's. This thing overheated, could not stop it. New thermostat, no thermostat, no difference. Really scratching my head here. Thought, maybe the impeller came loose on the pump? Bought a new pump and painted it. Took the old one off the tractor, looks ok, impeller moves fine. Spot some foreign matterial in the hose neck. I recognize it, stuffing from an old sleeping bag. Why that bag is in my parts storage area I have no idea. Mice built a fantastic house out of it and other materials they found. Made a hook out of some thin wire and extracted quite a nest from the top tank then went th the garden hose and flushed the &%#&+ out of it. I should add that the radiator was bad on this tractor when I bought it. Grabbed the 'best one' out of my parts area to replace the old one.

I really didn't want to pull that radiator off the WD, one of my least favorite things to work on. May actually get to use this thing this year!

Changed out the late model black B decals for the early model blue decals and added the air filter decals. Looks a lot better. Had an engine miss, found it was crappy plug wires. Replaced them with a reproduction set from the Brillman Co, runs a lot better now (looks better to).

Have two decals not sure if they are used, and if so where they go. One is the dismount warning and the other is the clutch shifter grease plate removal. Any ideas? It is a 1939 B.

Oops guess someone else has theirs wrong as well, went off a picture on the net. Thought was odd location. Will have to get another sticker. Thanks for letting me know.

Continued the clean up of the dead and dyeing wind break. Just makes me sick looking at it. Going to take a lot of years before whenever we get around to replanting to reach that height. If it wasn't close to the house and barn I'd light it up forest fire style!

Made myself a new set of plug wires, used black with orange cross hatch and the 90* close connect plug terminals, installed my side step and added anti skid on top of the axle, and moved the air filter oil fill decal to the correct location.

Walked by the D 15II in the barn and made sure the cover was adjusted over it properly.  Looked like the cat had strolled across it.  Wink

Folks,
i did not take any pictures, But I went to visit my son who is storing two tractors for me. The D17 started right up. Also the WD wide front fired up in short order. Both surprised me, after setting all winter! One of them will get the nod to go to our first local tractor pull on June 1.
Regards,
 Chris

I didn't even start an Allis today, (how did that happen). Had the 1066 out working on the Bean planter and ran three cub-cadets. Did paint some new springs for one of my WDs. On any given weekend day this time of year I normally run one to five or more AC's.

Ran the Cylinder hone and cleaned up some after.
Got motivated and decided to go and drop the oil and pan and get my first look at the bottom end. Now to order pan gasket and front rear seals which were badly needed ! Probably go ahead and replace that pickup and screen as well
Really cool thread idea !!!!!

Prepped the DA385 for corn. Hooked the 7060 to the 2500 disc and went out to see if it was dry enough. Sure enough it was just dry enough to keep going. Then the top radiator hose blew clear off the top tank. Put that all back together and finished in the dark. Sure do like those LEDs I put on.

Changed the oil in the 175D brushhogging tractor, took the 18.4-34's off another 175D that has wiring issues and put them on the 6080. Put a set of Deere wheels on it to roll it around. Put the 15.5 x 38's that were on the 6080 back on the brushhogging 175D, now it is ready to go. Have the 18.4 x 30's that came off waiting for their next assignment....

Been working on the CA of late. Took it to the electrical shop and got the charging system straightened out. Only working amp gauge I had was old and crappy so I got a new one for it. The big project for the weekend was a new manifold and muffler. Tractor came with a straight-pipe when I bought it. Found a broken ear on the manifold and both mounting bolts for the muffler broken so a new one was in order. While working on this I looked at the temp gauge, shot. Happened to think, seems like I've got a new one around here from a WD project that didn't happen for some reason. Well it looks great, and can tell how warm things are.

It seems like I'm getting a lot of AC related stuff done this year already. At this rate I'm going to be caught up by harvest time, ha-ha.

Found a blown tire on the field cultivator. Got a new tube and tire but first cleaned up the wheel. Needle scaled the inside then sandblasted outside. POR15 the inside. Painted outside. Decided the wheel bearing needed repacked but inspection says replace bearings. May have new bearings today.

Finished bush hoggin' the south pasture edges yesterday and this morning the WD has a flat tire!Angry  I aired it up and it seemed to be holdin' OK, so I started checkin' the cracks that have appeared lately between some of the lugs.  I see a little stick stickin' out of one crack so pulls it out an' the air started whistlin' out.  I had an almost new tire of the same brand and size in the shed, so off came the wheel and rim and took the whole lot to the local tire shop.  I'll pick it up in the morning.
