Looking for a ballpark value on a D14?
It’s been sitting a while. Tires are all dry rotted. Sheet metal is very good. Has a nice 3point set up but still has factory snap coupler latches. Not locked up but the owner has never heard it run.
Someone started to paint it. One fender and grill shell are sanded and primed. Looks complete in pics. Has an alternator.

Thad,
Maybe $1000 to $1500 if engine is free? Lower if engine is stuck? Tires are almost as much as tractor is worth. New rubber will be $1000. Some risk if the engine needs rebuilt.
Just a guess?
 Regards,
 Chris

There is the risk of it being a gear jumper, not running you can't really check that and the owner has no info.

If it has rear pie weights that helps price .How are rear rims .  Is it factory 3 point ?.
Sitting a while (what's a while )n needs all tires . $500.oo as is .Standing aside it checking it out MAYBE a bit more . Power steering ??.
I would want to crack drain plug in engine and trans rear section. A lot guessing.  .

Fred it looks to have nice wheels and factory Spin outs probably 26” hard to find tires for.
The grill is off but there. I see a plug in the top of the front gear box. I had a power steering D14 and it had a vented stand pipe where this plug is. I had a manual steering one and it had a plug like this.
It doesn’t have pie weights but I do have a partial set for a D14.
I don’t know if it has factory 3pt? I’ve never seen one. It does have lift arm latches and the rods from latches to the 3pt arms look factory.
I have only seen pics so far.

Here's a pic of mine.  It's made by Saginaw Tractor parts, but they are out  of business.

John that is very similar to what’s on my Wd45 but the 3pt on this D14 uses the original lift arm latches I don’t have a good enough pic to see much else of the 3pt.

I'd probably buy it for 500 Canucks. Got 3 ,had 4. There's a LOT of unknowns as said..engine, hydraulics, tranny, brakes, etc. If it's sat long enough the diff gears WILL rust as well as the PD assy.! I KNOW that first hand. 13.6x26 and 14.9x26 combine rims and tires fit OK,though 12-26 was stock.
IF the starter has an inspection band around it for the brushes it's a 6 volt starter. THAT I found out.....just because it has an alternator ,don't make it a true 12 volt D-14. 12V D-14 has different starter gear and ring gear !
I have 3 styles of SC to 3PT adapters, so that'd be a bonus.
They ain't fun to get onto a trailer with flat tires, specially if 'loaded'.
If there's fractures in the center rear rims, it had loose pie weights on it.

I’m sure it’s an automotive alternator not original.
I’m very experienced in dragging Allis’s with flat rotten tires on my trailer. Most require a lot of chainsaw work to start with.

Yup, all D-14s had gennys on them, mid '59 they went to true 12 volt system. 2 f mine are 57s with 12V alternators but 6 V starters, other is 12V with 12V starter.

Does your 59 have a fancy steering wheel?
I had a 57 manual steer and a 59 with a fancy steering wheel and Ps.

After serial number 19001, they got the "fancy" steering wheel.  From your earlier post about 26" tires being hard to find - NOT TRUE.  Many new tractors with FWA use tires that size.
As far as a price on the D14 you are considering, I would not go 1 cent over $500.  I paid $200 for this one in 2009.  Engine was totally seized, tires were rotten, but sheetmetal was near perfect and it has factory power steering.  After the engine got rebuilt, I found out it jumped out of 3rd gear.  Hoping my mechanic will have the tranny finished this year.  I put 14.9 x 26 on the rear although it came with 13.6.

Thank you for the FWA tire info. Makes me feel a little better.
