BUDDY'S GOT A J.D. 12 ROW CORN PLANTER WITH 2 PRESSURE LINES AND A RETURN,HAS ANYBODY GOT ANY GOOD WAYS TO HOOK UP THE OPEN RETURN TO TANK LINE ON THE 7000 SERIES TRACTOR'S OTHER THEN DUMPING IT IN THE FILL PLUG HOLE, AT THE REAR END? | Lower sight glass for one place, which is easy to do. The metal cover plate below the PTO and above the drawbar could be drilled and tapped into for a Pioneer coupler off to one side. |

| If you're dealing with a vac planter post back how it works out. "They" say 7-8000's don't have enough hydraulics to run one..... |

| I don't get it but certainly don't know all facts. Read online somewhere specs on those fan motors taking 4gpm. Is that right? If true,how does that max out hydraulics? Is there not enough left to raise it? I know there are several lift cylinders. |

| Well a 7200 16 row with two blowers will take around 15 gal just for blowers ,have a pump doc pump on a 8050 ,pto pump cooler and flow controls to run mine .Tractor hyd run lift and markers thats how we run ours. |

IF, if you were running GPS and Field IQ to turn on and off the planter, once you cross the inside end row, the meters will stop. If you turned off the valve for the motors, would the seed fall away from the vac plates? If not, could you turn off the motor valve, raise the maker(if used) then raise the planter? Meanwhile there is a guy in SW KS running a 16 row central fill White with a 8070. :) He admits he shuts down the central fill blower to lift it on the ends though. Pressure planters take alot less hydraulics to run, much more friendly for older tractors. ------------- Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine. Funny this just came up again, just had a neighbor ask this am if his 8070 had enough hyd to run a 16 row. He has a 12 now but wants to go to 16, would be a White planter, I know nothing about them, just this question. ------------- 1945 C, 1949 WF and WD, 1981 185, 1982 8030, unknown D14(nonrunner) |
