Mostly the same, a few differences in settings mostly. Like said above the 49AF is an XT, the 75AF is 180, both non advance. Use the XT pump on a 180 and just torque screw in for the non turbo engine.

ED...The XT pump and 2200 RPM would be similiar to the 185??  Or the 180 pump turned up to 2200??

I have always been intrigued by the injector system but have never had the need to know more. I have followed the discussions and retain the posted information. That has changed because I now have a one-eighty that has a perceived fuel/pump problem. So I have now decided it is time to throw my why/if's out there for the experts. And I want to keep it as short as possible. Sediment bowl gasket and screen? Although the parts book show different parts for the diesel and gas systems does that difference still apply? From what I run into It appears that one version is now used everywhere. In some situations the screen is in the bowl recess below the gasket and others the screen is hanging on the base on top of the gasket. The last question for now is the removal of the valve on the injector return line. The question to a popular Rebuilder about the current 180 problem I was told to remove that valve. I do not have one system that any longer has that valve in it. So I asked what is the purpose of that valve and does it need to be replaced. That person didn't know. Thanks everyone for your input... Dale

The 185 is set closer to the 190 non turbo. Some later 180, 185, 190XT used a pump with advance as well. Any one of them could be rebuild as a core by a competent shop to put on to your 180.

I have the lines off  the 180 and I have not yet checked, but are the spacer/holders on the line clamps still available? The old one's are brittle and broken. Thanks...Dale

The injector pump inspection cover gasket on the 180 timing cover. Thin paper or thicker material. Have one off that had no gasket.....Thanks....Dale

Dale, it is a thinner rubber material. My 185 has the same problem right now. Tracy
