There is a peice bolted to engine I believe parts book calls an air deflector? Why is this needed. 190s don’t have this nor does my 7000. What’s is the purpose and does it have to be there?

some tractors had air redirect to prevent dust being blown up excessively - other baffles keep hpt air off cab or operators area. ??? where is the baffle located...

Bolted to front left side of motor looks to just direct air straight back.
