Salad bowl finish is a food safe finish! I've not tried it, but they say polyurethane should not contact your food! It's $28 per quart! No, the glue is dry when I turn it-no smearing! ------------- Greg Kroeker 1950 WD with wide front and Freeman trip loader |

I attended a craft fair where a exhibitor had a huge display of wood turned bowels. I honestly thought the Guy was a potter. It was all in the way he glued up the pieces of wood that gave his bowls a pottery look. Made me want a wood turning lathe.

Omanagreg when you turn something that doesn't need a food safe finish try a friction finish. Really turns out nice. Yup Ted some days all you make IS sawdust. ------------- Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK! |
