I know there are at least (3) piston designs for the 344 cu in diesel
I know the flat top pistons are for the HD344 Buda motor with horizontal injectors. The improved Motors (AC 6000 and turbocharged 7000 and mark2) have dished pistons. My question is which dish piston came first? Was the shallow dish the improvement over the deep dish or vise versa?

Connecting rod bearings
There are at least (2) connecting rod bearing types. The type I have been using has the offset oil hole. I am aware that some rod bearings have an oil slot. I have always assumed that the slotted bearing was a transition between bearings with a centered oil hole and bearing with a offset oil hole. Does anyone know if the offset oil hole or the oil slot is the newest design?

Cleivite 77 connecting rod bearings are CB-700 P-? What are the other after market manufactures connecting rod bearing numbers?

Clevite old style bearings (offset hole) are CB1369P.  Later style with center hole are CB700P.  Deep dish pistons were the earlier design.
