Hello, just join the Forum been reading it for the last week or so, great information on here. I bought my son a 1979 Allis Chalmers 7000 for his first tractor hoping this would be a good father son project. I'm not familiar with this tractor I was hoping someone would help me get this Tractor up and going for him. Model 59041 Serial#1307
Issues no operation manual
Reverse grinds and thumbs the floor like it is missing a tooth on gear. Gears in Transmission are not stopping when clutch is engaged grinding forward gears when engaging them.
4 th gear is slower than all other gears (all other gears seem to be moving the correct MPH)
 Thanks in advance Eric

Welcome to have ya, I think by the sn you gave it is a 1975. I can't answer about the trans but it sounds like there may be clutch issues. I used a 76 7000 around 9000 hrs with little trouble. Is yours a Powershift? If you can get some pictures on here it may help. Open station or cab ? How many hrs?

Welcome! 1975 model is maroon belly. Is that correct? AC also made a black belly 1978 model.

Important: Maroon had a dry engine clutch. Black had a wet clutch.

Could be multiple issues. Might start with transmission brake, which may need attention?

Lots of previous info already discussed on here. Please read these earlier posts Which may help explain. Other forum members wiser than I will pinpoint it best:

All model 7000 tractors have the same 3 speed power shift.
