We watched a video of a guy in Nova Scotia making end grain cutting board out o Tamarack . we had some Tamarack that I had sawn last summer so we are making some cutting boards.  here are some pics.

     Pretty unusual cutting boards for sure and look like a lot of time and tedious work went into them. Very nice. Will you actually use them? Look too nice to groove up with a knife. How large are the pieces that you put together. I have never seen tamarack boards and have no idea what the grain would look like. Nice job and thanks for sharing.

      Shocked  That looks pretty neat. I don't know what Tamarack is and after a google search, still don''t know much about it.

The boards are about 11x15 x1 1/2"  look for Larch  we call it tamarack  it is the only Deciduous conifer they lose there needles in the fall and grow new in the spring. our trees are having trouble with a blight so a lot are dying.  Randy
