I'm real bad about drinking enough water, especially in the winter time.  Even in the Summer I sometimes go all day without drinking water or anything else for that matter.
As a result I get dehydrated. I wish I could get in the habit of drinking water even if I'm not feeling thirsty.
I love the taste of our well water. Ten years ago when I was off at work I always had a cooler of our well water in the truck. Lots of the guys I worked with said my water was the best tasting ever.  A few even asked if I would mind filling their coolers so they wouldn't be drinking mine.   One of the guys gave me a case of empty plastic water bottles to refill from my well.

I normally drink TEA and probably 3-4  glasses a day. Don't know how you can go all day without a drink !

I carry a stainless steel water jug with my home water with me to work. When I work st the farm I have a second SS jug on the quad. If I carry it with me I'm much better at drinking than if I have to go and get something to drink. I keep a case of water in my office a d we keep the shop fridge at the farm full of bottled water but I'm much more likely to drink if I bring water from home.

I need to drink more water also.Drink as many ozs as half your body weight. 200 lbs divided  by 2  equals 100 ozs of water .

Well water is the best. I try to stay hydrated during hot weather but fall short a lot of times when it is cold. Doc has me on a generic brand of Lasix now so I will have to watch my hydration more closely. I keep a cooler of bottled water in the back of my truck almost all the time but drink the well water at home.

I drink alot of water, and like ya'll, I love the taste of our well water now that the acid the stockholders had a well company pour down my well is gone. couldn't drink that water for years afterwards. I sometimes get a sulfer smell from it, but not always, and it doesn't change the taste any. with all the meds I hafta take my mouth is dry all the time. I too buy the case of water bottles, they go in the freezer and when I grab one, i'll always have cold water as the ice melts. I drink just as much in winter as I do in summer and I too hafta take Lasix once in awhile and even drinking a lot have still become dehydrated bad enough to have a meat wagon ride to a hospital. PffffT! keep it up Ken, water is a good flusher outter! helps keep yer pipes clean.

Stan,
Bud Lite tastes like water to me. That Is why I brew my own! I usually use RO water in my brewing and that is what we drink for water as well.

You that have good tasting well water are blessed. I use to have good spring water CryCryCry till the F^@# wino AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry rich a$$wholes started buying around me. The spring that had never dried up or even slowed down in 200 years of recorded history just dried up just another little dry whole in the ground now.AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry They drilled a well about thousand feet about a mile away to drip there sorry grapes. Just about all well water here is hard and all kind a minerals in. Some real close eats metal pipe in less than 5 years. At least I have a well with enough now I can take shower every day again.

I don't drink as much water as I much as I use to. But it is real handy to just grab water bottles and put them in tractor tool boxes an under truck seats. In hot weather pull them out of the freezer and put them in a little 6 pack cooler.

We have an artesian well that flows 20 gpm.  I have a cup by the well and drink it all summer.  It comes out of the ground at 54 degrees.  I probably drink 2 to 3 gallons a day in the summer and probably 2 gallons all winter.  Some qater and some as iced tea.

I drink a pot of coffee every mornin and sweet tea at lunch and sweet tea at supper. In the summer about April through November I carry a 5 gallon cooler full of well water.

I keep a gallon jug of our well water in the fridge and filled all the time.  I also drink V8 Fusion, mostly the orange carrot.  After each of my two surgeries the Dr.s told me to drink a lot of water.  Coffee, tea, and beer are not water equivalent and in fact do dehydrate.  I always enjoyed milk but after my stomach surgery it has caused a problem on the other end.  Whenever I am walking out of the garage to go somewhere I grab a bottle or two of water to go.

It took me a while but you just need to get in the habit.  I still catch myself forgetting to grab a bottle sometimes, but I am getting better and now have a spare or two in each car and the truck.

One advantage I have is I don't have to stop and go pee, ever since they put this bag on my side!

I agree with Dakota Dave, I have these two jugs that I fill every morning during the summer.  they both are 36ozs.  They're both empty by noon and then I take em in the house and refill and keep drinking.  Not as much during the winter, but still a lot.  You've just got to get into a habit of doing it.
e.g.
when you walk from the tractors or machinery to the shop for a wrench, you GOTTA walk past the water jug.  Take a drink.  Going back to the tractor, take a drink...
The more you drink, the more you pee.  Thus cleansing your body.  Think about THAT guys!

I keep a couple of empty juice bottles with bigger openings on top, in the fridge full of water if I'm walking by or look in the fridge for something I have a cold drink. The bigger opening allows for ice to be added or some ice tea or lemonade mix in summer.

Same here Dan. Everfresh orange juice comes in glass bottles. We have about 24 of them here. Refill them again and again with well water. Nothing is better in the summer time than one of those coming out of the refrigerator.

Interesting all the guys on here that have well water. We have a 40' well on our property and it is the best water I've ever tasted. Cool clear water and I test every year. most everyone in the country around here has rural water that's expensive and tastes not so good. Can't drink the water in town either, full of Chlorine and Fluoride to kill the germs. Been here 15 years and has never run dry or ever a change in the quality of the water.

About 10 years ago my well water started smelling like rotten eggs. It wasn't that way the first 25 years we lived here. I drink a bit of it filtered, but not near enough. I was spoiled as a kid with the best water around. Folks well was artisan and the best water around. Sister owns the place now and it's only a mile away, but I never think about bringin a jug home with me.

Our well is clear cold and clean but hard as times in '29, will break glass if pour too fast as My Neighbor says!! Tastes great but if run too much water in a day will get a Sulphur odor of it, never a bad taste. Fridge for house was New as we moved in has cool Water dispenser tap, use it all day for refills, Keep a Jug in the Beer Fridge in the shop always keep it topped off. Drink loads of water, likely 4-5 16 oz tumblers a day, still drink a full pot of coffee each morning and Unsweet tea at dinner, beer on occasion, our Doc says I am PLENTY hydrated as the other liquids Tea, Coffee and Beer do not dehydrate as fast as presumed, All liquids flow thru the body and flush out the bad stuff, just none to excess EVEN straight water. Found I was getting weak and a little light headed on the hotter days drinking GALLONS of water, Doc again suggested Sports drinks, preferred the "Zero" types as no added sugars, Electrolytes ARE a needed make up in High Heat as sweat them out faster than can recover. I catch Powerade ZERO on special sales and buy up a bunch save it back just to replenish myself in Summer, and ended that lightheaded fatigue feeling.   Keep at least 10 bottles in that Beer fridge and four to five in house during summer, use one replace with warm one to cool a spare off.

For me to drink 1/2 my weight in water?  About 200 lbs, 100 oz. of water.  I would have to stand in front of a tree all day, for water runs right trough me, in and out as fast is can go!

Rotten egg smell is from iron bacteria. A good test is mix yourself a mix of whiskey and water and if it turns the colour of ink then it is iron bacteria. A good shot of bleach or chlorine down the well could clear it up. I use to do my well about three times a year using the chlorine for my hot tub. The excess chlorine should disappear in a couple of days.
