what is the wiring diagram for 12 volt generator   with voltage regulator. Is it the same as the WD45 Diesel?  replacing a bad alternator . All ready have the 12  volt generator.

Make sure we understand what your doing? Taking off a bad alternator and replacing with a good generator and a voltage regulator, correct?
Well then the factory wiring diagram should be what you need to refer to. If it had a alternator it was probably changed in the wiring system to a custom wiring system for the alternator which does not need a voltage regulator. That said, I would re-check and double check every wire in the system to make sure you get it wired correctly back to factory specs. 

My tow cents I would put on a new alternator. But maybe your going for a original factory restoration project.

I know I did not help you much. I just got a service manual form Sandy Lake yesterday, but have not open it up yet.
Good luck with your wiring. My guess is that a WD45 Diesel may have a slightly different wiring system????? I am not sure. Gearld or Steve fro NJ will be along to help.

We need some pictures too! Please.
