Looking at a 6080 with 6300 hrs on her. Fairly nice tractor kept in shed. Brake pedals go to the floor! Owner has passed away so I have no one to ask questions about its history. Don’t have a book, what is involved replacing brakes?

first check to see if any fluid in brake system. it uses hyd.oil instead of brake fluid.

I suspect that as well, found dads 6060 service manual and it covers the 6080 also. We have never had brake issues on dads 6060 so we are in new territory here. Kind of time sensitive as we need to let the owner know soon if we want to purchase it.

Current user said they have been out for 3 years. Said he refills the reservoir when he needs to use it, but it doesn't last long. Said he can't find any leaks though.

Did he mention what he refilled it with? If it's like the other foreign tractors that have fluid brake systems instead of mechanical linkage, then it probably leaks internally into the rear end housing.

Check the line between the resivor and the master cylinder. Mine was cracked where you couldn't see it without 5 mirrors and 3 flashlights. Put new hose on and no more Hyd oil loss.
