Hi everyone
I purchased a AC-80-2sp fork truck and have no idea what year it is.  Took a little time to smooth out the carb, and the OHV 6 cyl seems to be running great.  No brakes, but should have that all fixed by monday with new master, wheel cyls and a couple lines.  Everything else seems to be working great.  Really could use a little paint job!!
The serial number is # 17308342.  I havn't been able to locate any reference as to years for these.

Fun Project Tho!!!
Thanks for any input
Mike

Can't help about the year but.....
when you redo the brake lines be sure they're 'slanted' or 'sloped' from master to slaves. That way they WILL bleed... My FPD50 wasn't, always had a slug of air in it... cost me $10 to reline the beastie and it's pretty good now. BIG issue is NO easy brake adjusters ! I have to guess and bolt the 'arm' pieces and install, not fun when you consider it's a big heavy tire on a split rim well bolted to a heavy cast brake drum/drive assembly. I made a 'wheel lifter' to use the overhead I beam and chain hoist making the job  almost fun.

Always good to here the hard times as well as the good.  Thanks for the input.  It sounds like there is no way to identify the years of these AC lifts.  It has dual wheels, just a little more work to get to the brakes.  I do need a couple lift control knobs if anyone knows where they might be available.

The more I search for information. the more iteresting and mysterous this acp-80 gets.  Does anyone know details of the engines in these?  It is a 6 cyl overhead valve motor. It has a symbol on the block with a large M and a C under the M
