Any thing to use except the off the shelf stuff? Have used that stuff before but seems like it didn't help much , Anyone use anything else ?

Water is still the best, I do NOT care for chemicals inside a cooling system you may or may not be able to neutralize. Get the chunks and rust out then refill with GOOD full strength coolant and distilled water for a refill and most times the rust does not return so fast.
There are coolant additives available now that were not so prevalent just twenty years ago to aid in controlling deposits and corrosion, well worth it.

Depends on what you're trying to fish out. Just trying to get the rust out, or did you have an oil cooler go bad and get oil in the system?

Ford has an iron remover flush that I have used with success. It's available at Ford parts counter

Permatex heavy duty radiator cleaner. Careful though, it is pretty much straight acid and does a VERY thorough job. So thorough that if you have any areas of the radiator or thermostat housing that's getting thin or held together by rust it will start leaking. Turned the original radiator on my WD into swiss cheese, but that was probably for the better if it was that bad. Flush well and add some baking soda to the flush water to neutralize what's left.
