The Nissan Frontier Trk I latched on to a few weeks  back is a done deal. Had to replace both timing chains and the gears  plus all the intake valves. Got er all lashed up and put a spark in it,,,and she runs many wonderfuls,,,,,Clap  The check engine light has come on and Oreillys code reader says the EGR valve is bad,,,Hmmmmm,,, Engine is just a little old four banger, 5 speed and 4X4. The trk only gots 134,000 miles and is in very good condition and paint looks like new,,,except,,,,,except the only'ist thing,, it has some factory graphics on the sides that look to be mud splashed up on the sides like it just ran thru a big old mud hole,,,,,,Now,,why would anybody want their trk to look like it just been in the mud,,???? Chit,,,I tried the wife's hair dryer to heat em and get em off but didn't work for chit, fact now it  looks worse than before....Gonna call my buddy that works in a dealer body shop and see if they can get em off.
Gotta get the EGR thingie fixed as I want to drive it up to the mountains as the BIG ELK hunt starts this Sat mornin,,,,,,,I can hear em bugling from here,,,,,ClapClap
Anybody ever hear a MAD BULL Elk bugle close to you,,,,,,,,chit fire,,,!!!!

Way to go! You may need a little more heat that a hair dryer will provide, just be careful and don't get the paint with it.

A real man would have already put the angle grinder to those decals and throw caution to the wind. As for me a heat gun has worked in the past but the ones I have removed were fairly new and were easy to soften.

Its something the body shops stock. It ain't lacquer thinner, that's all will come to mind now. Sorry guy.

Belt sander. That's the ticket. Belt sander. A grit do 20 should be fine enough.

Naw Stan, it shouldn't take 20 grit......I'd start with 80 and see what happens.  On a good belt sander, that should do it if you apply enough pressure....
UNLESS,,,,,,,
they're NOT decals,,,,,,could be painted on!!  That would explain it!!
BUT,,,,,,
if you take a cutting torch and get that flame a lickin out about 8" from the tip,,,,,,,and just lay it on them 'decals' and leave it sit for about 5 minutes,,,,,,,,that should heat em up enough to just peel em off!!

WHERE'd you STEAL a squad car from!?!?!  YIKES!!

I boughts an old police car, it still had the radio, lights, cage, push bumper, it was all complete! bought it from the Police chief (representing the town sale). it had almost 320,000 miles on it and still ran great. in fact when the town got their new police car ( a new crown vic), the officers still wanted to drive the old unit that I bought! (a Chev Caprice). and then when the officers took the Caprice and the crown vic out, ran them thru the 1/4 mile, the Chev won BIG TIME! LOL that really *issed off the Chief. now the town runs all new Chev impalas (3 of them) they love them! oh...and that POS mayor, sadly passed away, now I can't torment that POS anymore! PfffffT!

In Wallace county Ks there was a Sherrif that drove a caprice with a big block Chevy in it. He got out run by a wild high school kid in a 69 Ford truck with a 390. The kid really thought he pulled a fast one til he showed up for school the next day.
