Move lift lever to the up position and lift comes up, however when lever is released the lift leaks down. Lift cylinder is not leaking around the shaft. Did remove pump and disassemble cleaned out gunk and put it back on.

Had same trouble.Took apart 3 or 4 times.Seat on relief valve is leaking .When land where ball sets gets to wide it will leak.Took mine to machine shop and removed 10 thousands and now it holds.Where ball sets needs to be almost a sharp cornner. Had same trouble with check valves at work.Fix a bunch when working.
