That’s descent but we’re gonna be competing 8-10 mph with RDs and big cube Oliver’s and Deere’s. Hoping to get up close to 600

Not enough room to swing ,

442 is 4 1/2" bore X  4 5/8" stroke and I had to grind notches in the camshaft to clear the rods when they swing by. Same bore with a 6 inch stroke is 572 cubes and I see no way to accomplish that much swing even with custom made conn rods, but maybe  if there's enough $$$$$$ applied to the job   ??

I haven’t been in the 301s , built quite a few 226s. Biggest being a little over 400 cubes . I guess I’ll take one apart and see what happens thanks for your response

How thin was the webbing between the cylinders?  I don't recall there being that much extra room.  It is impressive what you guys can do to make cubes.

4.500" on the bore and 5.550" on the stroke gets you 530 cubes.

So doc how big can you go on a NA gas till the flow of the head won’t flow enough to fill the bore?

Don't have any idea. I don't have access to a flow-bench. The carburetor (to a degree) controls how many gallons of air per minute the engine can breathe. I have found using the same stock carb, cylinder head and camshaft and going from 310 to 360 to 390 cubes over the years, in open RPM classes, the more cubes, the less RPM the engine can run, but the torque down low keeps increasing. Turbocharged diesel engine HP also is limited by the size and efficiency of the turbo compressor inlet size. More air in means more potential HP. More cubes, with the same turbo air inlet size, keeps bringing down the top RPM's and adding to the low end torque.

Regardless the toque will still rise as long as the holes fill up. What for carburetor anything larger then 1-7/8?
