What do you guys use if your toenails got too honery to be trimmed with the toenail clipper. i tried one of those $16 side cutters but when you put enough pressure to take the bite of the nail off it feels like my toe got plugged into an electric light socket.  Maybe visit a farrier.  |

Part of my problem is that ...at least on my big toes... they are not flat any more so can not get the clipper on bout half of the nail.. but I can still get'em cut ... so far. ------------- Holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die |

The back and the beer belly for me.On my two big toes, I have ingrown nails along the outer edges. They grow in then upwards. Naw,,,Dave,,,you ain't the only'ist one with the toenail problems,,,, Fact is,,I've had to go to the Dr for ingrown toenails 3 times in the last 10 years,,,, the ones on my big toes always want to grow down into the toe til you can't hardly put a sock on sometimes. Before they get too bad,,I'm goin to one of those pedicure shops and get em trimmed good,,!! The last dr I went to was so dang rough with them dang side cutter pliers since it wasn't hurtin him,,!!!

When you take shoes and socks off at night, cut them before they dry out.---they are still soft at that time. Yes, both my big toes are funky too!!! thanks; ac fleet

My trouble is reaching them. I do believe there is a dermal type tool specially made for toenails. I do believe there are nursing services that do that too. Chaskaduo, be careful, infections on your toes can be very serious, especially on diabetics. I used to have horrible ingrown toe nails in my early teens. Learned to cut them out myself with the oversized finger nail clippers. Hurt like a b#tch and bled a lot and always had a hook growing out of the nail. Been staying on it since and haven't had a problem. |

I don't have a clue how much them pedophiles get for a toe nail job but thats what I'm gonna do next time,,,,it toooooo,,dang painful and I ain't goin to thet dang Dr again,,,!!!

Uh, I am seeing a podiatrist now. He says there are two ways to remove a toe nail. Temporary and permanent. The temporary way usually grows back in a deformed manner. Just repeating what a doctor told me. |

Cut a "v" in the center of the toenail then pack a tiny ball of cotton under it where the ingrown part is, takes a few days but the nail will start to grow towards the "v" and the cotton will lift up where the ingrown part is. A product call Outgrow helps with the pain or you can use Oragel. Outgrow used to have tannic acid in it and worked real good but the gubmint made them take that out of it so it only has a topical pain reliever now. ------------- Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God. |

I think the same thing.............................. but open the page every time I come by anyway. I must be as sick the rest that post it.An just so I can join the club here, my one big one had 2 or 3 kinds of bad stuff growing around on it. Doc took the nail off and something
kind of like a nail but different  growing ever since. Be careful about letting infection go to long. I had to sit with it up, and then soak it in a bucket then put it up to dry, to soak it in something else and then put a plastic bag over it. Was like a week of that 50 years ago probably kill me now. |
