During a overhaul last winter I installed a "new" Monroe seat on my B mowing tractor complete with brand new shock. Although it is an improved ride over the bench, my 230 lb bod bottoms it out way too often! I'm wondering if there is a heavier duty spring than the one I have available? Other options to hold up my substantial rear end?!

They used to make a spring that you could put on a shock for more support. You might ask at a auto parts store.

Hi Ken ole buddy!!  Haven't seen you in a while now!  I'll have to get up there one of these days!!  You going to Hutch?
Anyway, here is a thread that addressed the problem and a GOOD fix-it from Big_Joe about half way down...

I got a set of two off epay and it really helped me on both of my WD45's.  Really an easy fix!  Don't know if the specs are the same for a "Monroe" seat or not, but it's worth a shot.

Go on a diet! LOL Yeah, I've got a lot of room to talk, I've got you beat by about 30+ lbs. I would just bottom it out from the start. Didn't have that problem when I was growing up and driving my uncle's B with the Monroe on it.
