Well after a fun filled wedding and reception Sunday we found out my uncle was on life support and they unhooked him from the machine that afternoon. Sadly we were still packing up from the wedding so couldn't be there to say goodbye. Im really at a loss for words and it's taken me a week to really process it and the funeral today for it to fully sink in. He was the farmer of the family and one of the inspirations for this crazy hobby of ours so his loss is quiet the big one. Him and my aunt have been together thirty one years I can't even imagine losing someone you've spent that much time together with. Kind of put a dark shadow over the first week of marriage but death rarely comes at a good time I guess. Today the took him around his farm one last time cause the cemetery is only a mile away . They had a Farmall m in his flower bouquet and his casket had a combine embodered into it that said final Harvest. It was all exactly what he would have wanted I think. Worst part is last Friday they were still planning on making the wedding but clearly good had other plans ,plans I don't necessarily agree with but plans all the same. Jerome held was a big guy both in physical appearance and in heart always laughing smiling and telling jokes family get togethers really won't be the same anymore that's for sure.

Sorry for your loss there Cody, sure kinda put a lump in the throat reading it.
Kinda reminds me of the loss of my uncle, a God fearing and loving man who had whit and humor in his life and every one respected him. And It was unexpected for his departure. Massive heart attack took him. Miss him almost as much as my own parents.
That means a lot when you miss them so much, because they certainly had a presence of their love for you as you were growing up.
Maybe he will be watching over the both of you in your new life together.  May you find peace and comfort.

Cody, sorry for your loss especially coming at a time when should be celebrating a new era in your life. We never know when death will come knocking at our door. Sounds like everyone gave him a great send off, taking him around the farm one last time was a nice thing to do. Condolences to you and to all of his family.

Parts of life one never gets use to is the passing of another - be it close family or friend .
I lost my mother a short time it seemed after Roxann and i were married but our first son was born just before she passed so she got to see him and hold him while she was in hospice care .
Then it's going on to nearly 4 years since I lost Roxann and after 45 years together was 49 years this year .
Your life is just the beginning of another journey that will have many happy and a few sad parts to it . Trust in that higher power and ask for guidance to get through the rough times and a thank you for the joyous events .
Sadness cannot replace fond memories when the goal we all strive to find it that time when we can all share in that reunion yet to come
