Looking for a muffler that will be much quieter that the original.  I see nelson is popular but is it quieter?  also need air cleaner to carb hose.

If you still have the old hose, take it to a good auto parts store.  A non chain type store is better.  If you're nice they will find a hose that has a piece shaped like you need that you can cut out of it.

Steiners has the carb to air cleaner hose. Site sponsors on here probably do as well

The old Nelson is maybe slightly quieter than a cheap stanley but if you are looking for real quiet then an oval muffler is much better and there again a nelson is quieter than a cheap stanley. An oval, of course won't fit your hood unless you cut it out or you extend the pipe above the hood.

I cut the oval in the hood and installed  D17 oval muffler (requires pipe manifold) and that was great till the vibration broke out bottom. Back to a Nelson with ear plugs. Not the main tractor anymore so not much drive time.

Have a muffler shop built you a pipe that comes up thru the hoods hole and bends forward horizontally towards the radiator. Connect a D-17 series 4 muffler to that and lay it horizontally directing the noise out in front of you. Support the muffler with a bracket of some sort to the hood or side frame. It will be quiet in the seat.
