Was an external hydraulic remote ever an option on a 6140?  Just bought a cherry 6140 with 1000 hours on it and it does not have an external hydro remote.  Don't even see a place for one.  My 5040 has one that is oem factory................

Since you have both tractors, shouldn't be to hard to bodge up a second one, by copying the first...

Tim could you post a picture of yours ? A 5040 is built different underneath the seat than a 6140. I’m curious where the supply is pulled from and where the return line goes then I’m sure it’s all hard steel line

I'll try to post pics, might actually be easier to text them to you. I've had a lot of trouble posting pics. If that works, PM me your number. And then maybe YOU can post those here better than I can, lol!

P.S. - I'll PM you my number, you can reply to that.

Yeah, 5040 built in Romania. SDL, was that you that texted me earlier? Just had my name in the text, wasn't sure. I may get up to the farm later today, but likely tomorrow, I'll gets pics when I go next.

That said, IF I were you I'd give Heitman's in Durand, WI a call, 715-673-4829. I've been fortunate that they've had what I've needed. So far... But there are also plenty of used parts available on eBay. Either way, I'm sure it'd be cheaper than buying a junker, but then again you'd have plenty of parts on hand that may not be available for long. There really weren't that many made, and pretty much every company involved in the building of those machines are long gone. Other than some electric components, filters, and the like, finding/getting parts is a long row to hoe.

P.S. - This might be of help - http://www.agcopartsbooks.com/PartsBooksN/Viewer/Default.aspx" rel="nofollow - http://www.agcopartsbooks.com/PartsBooksN/Viewer/Default.aspx ? - just type in 6140 and select AGCO Allis, but unfortunately part names and/or numbers aren't always a universal language. I've had to spend time with Mark from Heitman's verifying what I'm looking for, then they go out to see if they've got the part(s), then call back to let me know. Shipping costs are reasonable. He's used to it, very accommodating and they've shipped the order the same day I called every time.

BTW, I'm drooling over the one you got, cherry indeed! Mine, um, ...well, it isn't just a Japanese orphan model, it also had a very abusive childhood lol... The hood was gone but the previous owner's grandson fabbed up a hood in shop class, it works fine but Allis it ain't! The fan was a mess, missing and broken blades, but Heitman's did me right. The draft link was broken, and I though it was going to be ok to leave it that way until I found a replacement (again from Heitman's), but it fell out at some point while I was cutting brush last month. The lift rods for the 3-point hitch were welded and unadjustable, again Heitman's to the rescue. Waiting on the draft link and lift rods, hopefully they arrive today. I ordered them last Thursday. I've bought other parts from them as well. I think you'll be satisfied with them.

Wait a minute, forget all that, now you'll be competing against me for their finite parts supply!!!

Well, that would probably be the best option all around for you, SDL! Good luck, you're gonna love the 6140 as long as you don't try to treat it like a bigger boy than it is.
