Which engine ????????????   5.4 gas isn't big enough for some guys.    6.2 gas engines have been very good as has the 6.7 diesel.

The pickups themselves are good. The 6.2 and 6.8 motors are good The 5.4 is a dog. The 6.7 diesel is very impressive but 6.0 and 6.4 are iffy.

Yeah, crap shoot on the motor in that one.

It may even be a V 10, since to my knowledge it was dropped in the F 250 in 2011 and replaced by the 6.2.

you may get some favorable replies if it is a thirsty V 10.

Buddy of mine just sold his V10 and bought one with a 6.uhoh.  He'd rather work on the 6,ohno than fix the V10 (and pour gas through it like a sieve).

The 5.4 is what it is; they're reliable but somewhat under powered. My last gasser was a '06 with a 5.4, it did everything I ever asked of it, the 6.7 just does it so much better.

I'm not sure where you live but to me the bigger issue would be rust. For some reason the 2010 Fords tend to rust more than any other year before or after. To me it's almost become a game, when I see a Ford with any rust I check it out. 95 times out of 100 it's a 2010.

Someone told me they had a different dipping process on the metal that year, I have no idea but it makes sense.

If you're not in a rust belt area that's not a concern.

Ive got a 99 1 ton with the v10 and i really like it. It is thirsty, but when it pulls like it does i dont mind too much. 10-12 mpg empty is pretty standard for me. I bought a 06 f250 4 door with the 5.4 3 valve. Was told they are no good. It has 190 k on it and seems to be good for a few more. I havent pulled it too hard (thats why i have the 1 ton) but it has handled all ive put behind it just fine.
