Inspired by another thread. Not talking shipped. You hooked up the trailer, got in your truck and went to go get it. I'll start.
3 days and almost 1400 miles round trip for an unstyled WC. It was my grail tractor.

I live in Edon Ohio and picked up an Allis B in McAlister Oklahoma which is over 1500 miles from Edon. Went back down to Hugo Oklahoma that is a few miles closer but still over 1500 miles and picked up a Case 800 and brought back in payment for repairing a dorF diesel for a friend of Dixie's. That one cost me a transmission in the old ugly dorF truck coming up the big hill out of Nashville Tenn.

When my sons were 8-9 years old we drove almost exactly 3000 miles round trip to Calder SAK to retrieve our WF. A very memorable trip it was, wouldn't do it today ,, unless I had two more sons that age

My first Allis WD was 12 miles away, pulled it home behind my pickup on the back roads. No seat spring, narrow front was wore out so couldn't get above a couple of miles an hour or get a death wobble going on. Under the hood and battery box was full of yellow jackets. Long ride home but it was free.
Second one was 2 hours away and it ran but used a trailer that time. Still have that one.
My youngest son and myself have had several long road trips looking for digging equipment. It is always a good time. One of his boys usually tag along.
After all those road trips I found a digger 3 miles from my work. Paid for it on my lunch break and the boy had it home by 3.

I wanted an Allis that I could use for tractor caravans. Eldon Jons on here from Spokane Washington, posted that he had a D-10. We are from Michigan and winter in Florida. One of the GOTO was in Tulare, CA. in April that year, and I had wanted to see the West side of this country, so we left Florida in March and headed west, ending up at Eldon's. We bought that 1965 D-10 with the Range 2 speed gear box ahead of the standard 4 speed. Then continued sight seeing while heading back to MI. We did not keep track of the miles we traveled, but had a good time. And that D-10 has been a good tractor for going on caravans.

I think about 100 miles one way is the most I've ever went. Would go considerably farther for the right one though. I have driven three home, farthest was about 25 miles. I did go about 4 hours to get a planter once.

Now if I added all the miles for trips to Gary Burnett's picking up any thing from my first model A and U's ,WF's etc. to e-60 P/U's n L9o P/U's .My trucks knew how to get there with out driving them . The one U we hauled from Gary's that Uncle Bill had bought ,went to England to Dave E. after Uncle Bill pasted . Amazing how some tractors can get a lot of miles on them moving them around. . LOL

All my A-C’s came from my cousin’s place, a little over 4 miles away. My Big Ten, late B-10, 616 hydro, 1935 WC on full steel, 1953 CA, 1955 Wd45 with an E-Gleaner engine. So as far as my entire collection, I bet I have the fewest miles to get everything home.... But, then again, I have been going there quite often, to do something. I just got back from taking the Ca over to mow, it wasn’t very long ago, I took a loader and brought my sc disc, harrow, dirt scoop, boom, and a two bottom plow for the WC. Now I need to pick up the sickle mower and post hole digger.

Oh the crazy things we do for old iron. Dad and I went up to Alberta Phil's place in Tofield Alberta Canada (near Edmonton) the fall of 2016 to get my 20-35 lonfender projects. Over a 1,200 mile round trip from here in Kenmare, ND. And we did that twice in a weeks time because there were two tractors, so over 2,500 miles total that week. And that is not counting the 600 miles from Ashland, WI to here in Kenmare that Dad had to come to "start" our journey. So got about 5,000 miles total to get both tractors home to Ashland in the end. Not all one continuous trip, but still.
It was a fun time going up to Canada though, it was the first time either Dad or I had been up there. It is true what they say, Canadians really are friendly too, as one helped us out when we got slightly lost in Moose Jaw I believe it was. Led us back out to the edge of town and got us pointed the right direction we wanted to be traveling. Conversation started at a stop light as we were trying to figure out were we had made a wrong turn and how to get back on track. Guy next to us rolls down his window and asks "what year is the old girl?" pointing back at the tractor on the trailer. I told him, and we made a quick little chit chat. I asked "which way back to (whatever highway we were looking for)?" He says "let me in front of you and just follow me, I'll lead the way!" So we let him get in front of us when the light turned green and he ziggled us through town and got us back on track. Never did get to formally thank him, but gave the old toot of the horn and thank you wave as we went on our way. Really was nice of him, he didn't have to go out of his way to help two complete strangers like us, but he did and din't even hesitate to do so.
Not to mention the hospitality that Phil gave us, giving a personalized tour of the Reynolds Alberta Museum.
Making memories, that is what these road trips are about.

I picked up a D17-D in IL. Round trip from MI was 1000.
I recently picked up a D17 in western KY. I hauled a WD45 down and the D17 back. I forgot how many miles but it was a two day trip. About 12 hours each day.
Shortest was my D14. Probably 2 1/2 miles drive home. And I still have that one.

Having over three and a half million miles as a commercial truck driver, going a few miles after a tractor I want isn't a big deal. The collection i purchased in Clarion, Pa and three side trips to Ashland, Oh put over six thousand miles on my pickup. Fredericksburg, Va for a War B, (1500 miles). One and a half C in Katy, Tx (1800 miles). DeQueen, Ar for a trailer load (1900 miles). Meet for two tractors out of Centre Hall, Pa in Dunn, NC via Samsula, Fl then to Winston-Salem, NC was 1250 miles). Made a trip up to Tennessee for several stops and back thru Anderson, Sc (1000 miles). Made two different trips to Anderson, SC for another 1500 miles. Williston, Fl for my first two tractors (190 miles). A trip to Leesburg, Fl for a steel wheel B (275 miles). Fredricksburg, Va for another 1400 miles. At least two trips to Lake City, Fl at 175 miles. Bremen, Ga for a tractor, and later back again for a trailer load of snap coupler implements (1500 miles). Two trips to Griffin, Ga weights and things (1450 miles). I am probably forgetting some... David from jax

The closest was a C that a neighbor gave me, needed work so I picked it up with my backhoe and hauled it the half mile. The farthest I hauled one was a D14 from south east of Kansas City, used my Freightliner FL 70, gets about 7 MPG, around 800 miles each way. Did it on a Thanksgiving weekend. The D270 was in eastern Maryland, paid $500 to get it to Colorado, well worth it!
